Here we are, days away from the first WWE pay per view of the year. The Royal Rumble has always been the time to see all the wrestlers you see every week on TV, and those who stay in the shadows, come together to get thrown over the top rope. If your a jobber then get ready to come in for a few minutes before making a timely exit and if you’re a TV regular than you’ll be throwing a few people over to keep your relevance known then also being thrown over the top rope. The best part of the Royal Rumble are the surprise guests that come out, like old wrestlers and even those in NXT getting a taste of a big pay per view.
Unlike other Royal Rumbles, this one is special because it will be 1 against all. The current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns will be the first wrestler in the ring and have to battle 29 other men until only one person is left. It could be Roman Reigns or it could be someone new. The front runner of possible threats is Brock Lesnar, who comes to a few TV shows but is more known for being an unstoppable beasts who wrestles at pay per views.
The rest of the card does have some interesting matches, so let’s take a look at them and make some predictions. Please remember that these are in no particular order.
Darren Young and Damien Sandow vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. The Ascension vs. Mark Henry and Jack Swagger: This is a pre-show match to see which two men qualify for the Royal Rumble. If the Dudley’s both get in, it’s because there is going to be a story where they temporarily seperate. My money is on Sandow and Young.
Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens: I really don’t want to see Kevin Owens win the title back, but I think the Ambrose era is coming to an end and it’s time for him to move onto a new belt. I saw Kevin Owens gets it back, but Dean goes to a better story line.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Kalisto: Sadly Kalisto lost the belt way too soon and it’s that reason why he’ll win it back this Sunday. I don’t like Alberto’s music and I would rather hear Kalisto get it back, because his music has a hint of Vega’s from Street Fighter II.
The New Day vs. The Usos: The New Day is great and they won’t take them off of RAW, but The Usos are faces so they’ll win this match.
Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch: It’s about time that Becky Lynch goes over, so I think Becky will win and the next story will be Charlotte challenging her at Wrestlemania.
2016 Royal Rumble match: If Monday Night RAW was any indication it will come down to Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, and if Chris Jericho lasts he’ll be there until the almost the end. This is going to be a preview of what is going to happen at Wrestlemania. I say that Roman Reigns wins by throwing Brock Lesnar over the top rope, but since Brock was the last one in the ring he’ll challenge Roman at Wrestlemania for the belt.
