There are tons of websites out there, mine included, who try to bring you the latest and greatest news available, but it seems that for a lot of information we just have to keep an eye on Amazon. Amazon has been the biggest place for leaks to happen, because they are always putting up information prematurely. I assume this isn’t making Sony and Microsoft happy, because they try to keep their information secret until they feel we need to know. Revealed yesterday was the Xbox One 1 TB model

But days ago Amazon put it up with a release date

They also put up, then removed, pictures and release dates for Forza 6 and Rise of the Tomb Raider

It also seems that they have now put up pages for physical copies of Wolfenstein: The Old Blood for Xbox One and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for Xbox 360.

Doing a quick Google search can provide you a laundry list of leaks that Amazon has been responsible for, but why does this keep happening? I’m pretty sure that the section of Amazon that is responsible for leaking this information doesn’t really care, they just know they have to put the information up so they can start selling pre-orders. In some instances I would even go as far as saying that big companies have given Amazon the OK for them to display and then taken down an ad. Even if the game may not be that good or even that popular, a displayed and removed ad generates buzz. There is no such thing as free press, and even if there’s someone out there who wasn’t interested in the game before may hear something and change their minds. Most news I get are from websites and podcasts, and when someone takes 20 minutes talking about a game and it’s origins or other games from it’s franchise, I tend to become more interested.
