There was a time when a Transformers movie was amazing and did magical things, like provide me and my fiance a first date. But after the first movie came out, the writing took a huge dump and the movies started becoming really bad. I will admit, there was a small revival in the 3rd movie because it wasn’t that bad. The movie was a little long, but the story was interesting and it was the last time we got to see the character Sam Witwicky. After Shia LaBeouf left and Mark Wahlberg came into the picture the movie was essentially grasping at straws. But, it seems that enough people have watched the movies to warrant a sequel to the 4th movie.
I was a huge fan of bashing the way the 4th movie ended, because the Dinobot tease in the trailer was just about the same amount of time you saw them in the movie. After they appeared and did their 15 minutes, they walked off as Galvatron watched on. Now we will see what happens as well as possible weirder transformers, because a shared universe is happening. I really hope that this isn’t going to be a Hasbro universe where the people from Battleship make an appearance.
During a conference call the CEO of Hasbor Brian Goldner gave the following informaion
Our plan with the studio and filmakers you may have heard some writers being hired and we have in fact brought in Akiva Goldsman to lead a group of writers to really create a strategic plan around Transformers. We think there are any number of stories to be told from the brand that has been around for 30 years with amazing canon and mythology. We would expect the sequel to the Transformers movie [TF4] to happen in 2017.
Unfortunately, I’ll be seeing this movie because it’s become a tradition for my fiance and I. So even though I may be against it, I’ll go see it and you’ll be damn sure that I’ll be letting you know what I think about it here.
