With Stan Lee’s Comikaze being tomorrow, it’s only fitting I bring news of one of the most anticipated Marvel movies. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is going to be a humongous hit and even thought Matthew McConaughey didn’t want to play a villain, we have learned that there will be a new hero played by Pom Klementieff. According to Deadline we will be having the Mantis in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
If you aren’t familiar with Mantis it’s ok, I’ll give you some information. He is a half Vietnamese, half German daughter of Gustav Brandt, also known as Libra, and was born in Hue Vietman. Her father left her in the Temple of the alien Priests of Pama, which is closely tied to the Kree. She there learned to fight and when she reached adulthood she had her mind wiped and sent out into the world. After some rough times she meets with a superhero named Swordsman and eventually joins the Avengers.
The back story doesn’t really put her in a space scenario, but I do feel that James Gunn is a good enough writer to have her put in the situation that is needed to meet the Guardians of the Galaxy.
