In the past couple of years the wonderful Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attacks affecting video games consoles have become more prominent, and no one suffers more than the gamers who use them. One of the biggest breaches happened in 2011 to the Playstation network, the attack happened between April 17 and April 19 and lasted for 23 days. Over 77 Million people were affected and Playstation finally sent out security patch 3.61, which required players to update their passwords. The whole ordeal turned a lot of people off of Playstation and cost the company $171 Million. Recently emails have been sent out to Playstation owners who were affected during the outage and filled out the claim form when it was offered, the following copy of the email was posted on Playstationing
