It’s been quite a while since we’ve had a new survival horror game. The rehashes aren’t doing what they used to do, so it’s time for something fresh and new. I want to take control of someone who is part of not only a wold unlike my own, but also part of a story that has me finding any available moment to play it. I came across the game P.A.M.E.L.A., which was created by NVYVE Studios and is set to come out for PC’s next year and it may be the game that will scratch that survival horror itch.
The above announcement video does give a great feeling of being alone in a world where no one is around. The Studio Director of Nvyve, Adam Simonar, gave his description of what the game is
P.A.M.E.L.A.™ explores the unforeseen consequences of humanity’s craving for technological and biological advancement
You got to see just a glimpse at some of the settings of the game, but with the newly released trailed named Rebirth you get to see a little more
The recent press release gives us more information about this world.
Uncover the tragic events that lead to the downfall of a civilization, and fight for your life as the broken citizens of Eden defend their home against your intrusion. With a personality-driven AI system, no encounter will be the same as the Afflicted react in unpredictable ways, driven by their excruciating pain and disfiguring disease. Interact with various factions, including the Afflicted citizens, security droids, robotic custodians, and more. Each faction has its own unique behaviors and alliances, and will react dynamically to the player’s behavior to become allies, or enemies.
I get P.A.M.E.L.A. is an acronym for something, but I’m wondering if it’s the name of your character or the robot that releases you from the tube. The one thing we can agree on is that visually this is a beautiful looking game. The lighting and detail of the outside world transports you to a world of science fiction where you’re trying to figure things out while avoiding creatures. Who are they and where did they come from? We don’t know yet, but as more information comes out I’ll keep you posted
