Each Monday I like to take a look at a piece of media that stands out to me. This could be anything from an episode of a TV show or cartoon or just an album I think you should enjoy.

This week allow your ears to enjoy the sounds of U2

Artist: U2

Album: WAR

Song Selection: Sunday Bloody Sunday

I hope you weren’t thinking we were going to finish off our month of Irish media and not mention U2. Even if you aren’t a U2 fan and hate that they pushed an album to your iPhone there has to be at least one or two songs from the band that you have to admit to liking. U2 has been around for a while and with their vast library of songs, there is something for everyone. In my case the song Sunday Bloody Sunday was one that stood out to me, and not because of the lyrics but because it was catchy. Ever since I was young and heard that song I liked it and I was a little let down when I got the cassette Achtung Baby and it wasn’t on there. After being let down, I decided to start doing my homework which meant that I just turned getting a gift into homework. I feel I’ve deviated far from the point so let’s circle back. U2 is a highly influential band with strong messages and an even stronger following. Sunday Bloody Sunday is a great song and I really think you should listen to it as well as look up the meaning.
