Each Monday I like to take a look at a piece of media that stands out to me. This could be anything from an episode of a TV show or cartoon or just an album I think you should enjoy.

This week allow your ears to enjoy the sounds of Hot Hot Heat

Artist: Hot Hot Heat

Album: Make Up The Breakdown

Song: No, Not Now

Today’s Media Monday song comes from a band which was talked about yesterday with my brother in-laws while we were discussing old concerts. I’m not sure how many albums the band Hot Hot Heat but I only had two and one was Make Up The Breakdown. I bought this album because of the song Bandages but after listening to the whole album I enjoyed every song. Sadly I never saw them live in concert, but after looking up their live performances they sound like more of a CD band rather than a live band. Unfortunately their sound just didn’t translate into their live performances, and if I had to pin point someone it would have to be the lead singer. Most of the live songs have more than enough breathing breaks and the sound just doesn’t sound right. I always hate it when singers try to add words to songs, either because they were cut when they were recording or they feel like really expressing their creative side in live performances. I don’t mean to shit on the band that sings the song I chose, so enjoy your week and enjoy this song.
