During the mid 90’s there were a variety of cartoons that were on before school, after school and on the weekend. These cartoons dealt with creatures from from other worlds, anthropomorphic creatures, humans and small children. There was no kid friendly idea that you could have thought up that didn’t bare some relevance to a show that was currently on the air. One of those cartoons was Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron, which ran on TBS as part of The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera block of cartoons.
The Swat Kats ran for two seasons and then was promptly cancelled. The show’s two seasons made a real impact, because the amount of Swat Kats fan fiction and art online is tremendous. If you’re one of those creators, then the show creators may have seen your piece of art and they want to reward your loyalty.
The initial $50,000 goal has been reached, so now it’s on to the stretch goals to get animated episodes and possibly a movie
