Last night’s Monday Night RAW ended with Kane making a huge announcement. Roman Reigns and Randy Orton will be part of a triple threat match against Seth Rollins at Payback on May 17 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Roman Reigns had a chance against Brock Lesnar at Wresltelmania 31 in March, but was interrupted by Seth Rollins who cashed in his Money in the Bank contract and won the belt.
My theory is that Seth Rollins will win against Reigns and Orton at Payback, but when they both ask for a rematch the decision will not be in Rollin’s favor. The decision will be that Reigns and Orton will fight at the next pay per view, Money in the Bank, and the winner can challenge Rollins at any time. This is a way for Roman Reigns to get the the Money in the Bank contract while Orton wrestles Rollins at pay per views until Reigns cashes in.
I believe that both Reigns and Orton have turned the crowd from against them to with them. Each was a heel in their own way, and Reigns had a hard time getting the crowd on his side when he turned face. Not even The Rock could help when Roman Reigns won the Royal Rumble.
Recently the crowd has taken it easy on Reigns and you could see it on his way down the stairs as he enters the ring. When he walks down the stairs he gets pats on the back and fist bumps rather than people flipping him off, getting in his face and getting boo’d. Randy Orton had an easier time turning to a crowd favorite because of popularity of the RKO and anyone directly against a group the crowd hates automatically becomes a hero.
I believe that Roman Reigns will be the next WWE World Heavyweight champion, no other wrestler has a story line that would provide the push needed and I believe it’s his time.
