We are mere months away from the release of Star Wars Battlefront and the anticipation grows stronger every day. We all have watched the footage released online and through the trailers, but the one question we all have is when are we going to be able to play it. With a game of this caliber there we all knew that there would be a beta, but we just didn’t know when it would happen. Yesterday EA dropped some big news concerning the beta we have all be wondering about as well as a companion experience.
Starting in October a beta will be available for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and on Origin for PC. This beta is a technical test and will feature a 40 player multiplayer battle called Walker Assault on Hoth. In this battle you will either be playing as the Rebels or the Empire and depending on which side you’re on, you may get the chance to play as Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader. The second part of the beta reveled is Survival Mission on Tatooine, where you and a rebel friend fight off waves of Imperial Forces. Essentially, it’s a Star Wars themed horde mode. A third part of the beta was named, but later in the week more news will be released about it.
Along with the beta, there will be also be a Star Wars Battlefront companion experience released. The companion will be available here on November 17 and is a card game called Base Command. While playing Base Command you can earn in-game credits that can help unlock new cards, weapons and other items in Battlefront. The companion experience also lets you customize your character in Battlefront and alert you when you friends are playing. The companion app will be available in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play store.
