The very popular anime Ghost in the Shell has been rumored to becoming an actual movie starring Scarlett Johansson for a while now. I remember reporting on this and having a discussion about whether or not this would be a good thing, seeing how there was nothing but hate when it was announced that the Akira movie may have an all white cast.

I guess Disney just gave up on making it, because it was reported that Paramount is now taking over as the company to make it. The date of release still stands at March 31, 2017 but nothing has been done yet to start making the movie, and if they’re going to try to do it right then they’ll have to spend some money on CG and if you don’t believe me check out the trailer to the original movie.

Paramount isn’t new to this and they have their fair share of sci-fi movies, so I’m not worried about. What I am skeptical about is the constant juggling of this movie and the fact that it hasn’t began shooting yet.
