If you’re a fan of any kind of anime or Manga from Japan, then you’re also familiar with the concept of waiting for months for a new episode to air in English. Whatever you may be watching and calling a “new episode” on Toonami or any other site that has English dubbed anime or manga, is actually an episode that has aired in Japan months before. The only true way to watch an anime episode that airs around the time it airs in Japan is with subtitles. For me, I prefer dubbed episodes so I’m the person waiting for an English version to appear online or on Toonami.

The only anime that I truly got behind and watched everyday when I was in high school was Dragon Ball Z. I would get home and watch a continued fight that started on Monday and ended Friday. Eventually the episodes became repeats and it was only years later where I was able to procure and watch all of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball GT. I thought after Dragon Ball GT they would only focus on movies, but it was just announced that Dragon Ball Super will be a new anime show coming to Japan in July.

According to Famitsu Dragon Ball Super will be a continuation/sequel to Dragon Ball Z. The story will continue after Goku defeats Majin Buu and everything has gone back to normal. I think this resurgence is due to the popularity of the Dragon Ball video games and movies that have been shown in both Japan and America. If the episodes show in July then I would say that we can hopefully start seeing them early next year with English Dubs.
