Deadpool was an amazing movie, which everyone should have seen already, and I believe it takes the argument of superhero fatigue and shuts it down. What was projected to be a $70 Million dollar weekend is not estimated to be at least $135 Million, which is more than the rest of the X-Men movies opening weekends. Deadpool proved that even though it was an R rated movie, there is an audience out there who wanted to see it and probably wants to see more. This is why a sequel has already been greenlit and if you stayed until the end of the credits, then you know that Cable will be featured in the sequel.

In the comics, Deadpool was originally sent to kill Cable but later on in Deadpool’s histroy they team up and become friends. The Cable and Deadpool team up books were both highly popular and extremely funny and entertaining. The question now is who would be the best fit for Cable in the sequel? While fans are engaging in speculation all over the internet, Stephen Lang has taken it upon himself to throw his name into the running of Cable.

You may recognize Stephen from his role in Avatar as the angry Colonel trying to destroy where the Na’vi live. His role in Avatar did show how he looks with huge guns, which is what Cable uses, but I’m not sure if a clean cut Stephen Lang would do Cable justice. The other name being thrown around, by fans and not the actor, is Liam Neeson. This is solely because in the Deadpool movie, he complains the Taken movies Liam Neesons character is just a bad father.
