Recently a video popped up online of Mario put in realistic environments using the Unreal Engine 4. As much I believe that this would boost sales, I don’t think Nintendo would ever venture out and use this technology, because it didn’t fit Mario’s usual environments. In theory this is true, the Mushroom Kingdom does have a distinct look and I wouldn’t want to mess with it. I would like see this used in possibly a new Super Mario RPG game. Yes, I know that Super Mario RPG does take place in the Mushroom Kingdom, but not all the environments in the game. I haven’t seen most of those levels since Super Mario RPG for the Super Nintendo. All of the other games that follow their own franchise have had upgrades since the Super Nintendo and Nintendo 64, so why can’t it be Super Mario RPG’s turn? The adult audiences heading to Xbox One and Playstation 4 for their immersive mature story lines, would spend more time with the Wii U if they had a game that looked like this. In all honesty, the story could be middle of the road at the least and as long as the levels looked real there would be no complaints. Take a look at what a Mario game could look like and let me know what you think.
